The 53rd State-Level Children’s Science Exhibition was organised at the District School in Ranchi, with students from across Jharkhand showcasing models and projects based on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The theme of this year’s exhibition is “Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics for a Developed and Self-Reliant India.” Students demonstrating outstanding projects will be shortlisted to represent Jharkhand at the national-level competition.
Jharkhand Secondary Education Director Rajesh Prasad, who attended the event as the chief guest, emphasised the importance of encouraging children to learn through practical and experimental methods in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
He said children possess a strong sense of curiosity and a natural ability to innovate, and therefore they should be encouraged from an early age to pursue science and technology.
Prasad said students from different districts participate in the annual exhibition and develop innovative models and projects based on their creativity and understanding of scientific concepts.
He said such platforms help develop scientific temperament, creativity and an innovative mindset among students.
“Children participating in such programmes will go on to become innovators and develop new technologies and devices that can make people’s lives easier,” he said.
The exhibition provided students an opportunity to present their ideas, demonstrate practical applications of science and interact with fellow participants and educators.
