A two-day State-Level DAV Chess Tournament (August 24–25) was inaugurated at DAV Kapildev Public School, Kadru, with young prodigies from various DAV schools across Jharkhand competing for top honors. The event commenced with a traditional Havan, lighting of the lamp, and the DAV anthem. S.K. Mishra, Principal of DAV Bariatu, formally declared the tournament open alongside principals from several participating schools.
Addressing the players, Dr. S.K. Sharma, Principal of DAV Kapildev and Assistant Regional Officer (Jharkhand Zone D), highlighted the rich tradition of DAV sports, encouraging students to play with true sportsmanship and excel on the board. Winners of the tournament will qualify for the DAV National Sports meet. The event is recognized by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
