BSL teams shine at 12th National 5S annual convention

Teams from Bokaro Steel Plant delivered an outstanding performance at the 12th National 5S Annual Convention organized by the Quality Circle Forum of India in Varanasi on June 12–13, winning multiple awards for excellence in quality improvement and innovation.

A total of 15 BSL teams participated in the two-day convention, presenting projects focused on quality enhancement, operational efficiency, optimal resource utilization, and organizational excellence. Based on their presentations, eight teams received Par Excellence Awards, five teams secured Excellence Awards, and two teams earned Distinguished Awards.

The Par Excellence Award winners included Team Jigyasa (Power Engineering Brigade), Team Shakti (ETL), Teams Kshitij and Jazba (Medical & Health Services), Teams Pragati, Dream and Parivartan (CO & CC), and Team Srijan Jyoti (Traffic Department).

Excellence Awards were conferred on Team Radiance (Hot Strip Mill), Teams Saksham and Spark (CRM-3), Team Green Power (Distribution Network), and Team Tej (Medical & Health Services). Distinguished Awards were won by Team Suchita (CRM-1 & 2) and Team Utkal (CO & CC).

The convention highlighted the importance of quality management, innovation, and continuous improvement in strengthening workplace excellence and organizational growth. Through their projects, BSL teams showcased their commitment to operational excellence and sustainable development.
