In celebration of International Yoga Day, Sarkar Yoga Academy will organize a free yoga camp at Joggers Park Sports Academy in Shastrinagar, Kadma, on June 21. The event, being held in collaboration with Shaheed Nirmal Seva Sadan, aims to promote the practice of yoga and encourage healthy living among citizens of all age groups.
The camp will be conducted from 5:00 am to 6:30 am and is expected to attract yoga enthusiasts, fitness seekers, and first-time participants from across the city. Organizers said the programme has been designed to spread awareness about the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of yoga.
International yoga guru and founder of Sarkar Yoga Academy, Anshu Sarkar, along with international yoga instructor Smiki Sarkar, will lead the session. Participants will be guided through a series of yoga asanas, pranayama exercises, and meditation techniques aimed at improving flexibility, fitness, and overall well-being.
The instructors will also share practical tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and discuss how regular yoga practice can help prevent and manage lifestyle-related ailments such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and stress.
Speaking about the event, Anshu Sarkar said extensive preparations are underway to make the programme a success. He noted that the objective of the camp is not only to encourage people to adopt yoga as a daily habit but also to create greater awareness about its role in promoting holistic health.
Adding an interactive element to the celebrations, organizers will also conduct a Yoga Quiz Competition at the venue. Open to participants of all age groups, the contest will feature questions related to yoga, its history, philosophy, and health benefits. Winners will be rewarded with prizes and recognition.
To encourage participation, certificates will be distributed to all attendees taking part in the yoga camp. Organizers have appealed to residents to join the event and experience the benefits of yoga as part of the global observance of International Yoga Day.
