In a significant step towards enhancing passenger safety and improving railway infrastructure, the Ranchi Division of the South Eastern Railway has launched a major initiative to construct and expand Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) at several stations across the division.
As part of the latest initiative, new Foot Over Bridges will be constructed at Tatisilwai, Tulin, Tangarbansli, Silli, Namkum, Jhalida, and Ramgarh Cantonment railway stations. In addition, the existing FOBs at Orga and Govindpur railway stations will be expanded to facilitate safer and more convenient movement of passengers between platforms.
The project, estimated to cost around Rs 30 crore, is targeted for completion by the end of the 2026-27 financial year.
Railway authorities said the construction and expansion of FOBs will significantly reduce the need for passengers to cross railway tracks directly, thereby minimizing the risk of accidents. The upgraded facilities are also expected to improve crowd management on platforms and ensure smoother, safer, and more organized passenger movement within station premises.
