Orientation-cum-Induction programme concludes at XISS

The eight-day Orientation-cum-Induction Programme for the PGDM Batch 2026-28 concluded at Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), Ranchi on Wednesday, acquainting students with the institute’s academic structure, values and support systems.
The programme began with an address by XISS Director Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, followed by sessions on Jesuit education, academic and financial procedures, and institutional support mechanisms including anti-ragging, counselling, grievance redressal, and digital learning resources.
Students also attended sessions on the Constitution of India, hostel facilities, and wellness through yoga and meditation in connection with International Yoga Day. Programme-specific orientations and interactions with alumni and industry experts offered insights into academic expectations and career opportunities.
Dr Nitish Priyadarshi of Ranchi University spoke on environment and sustainability, while the Alumni Association of XISS organized an interactive session featuring distinguished alumni from organizations including Tata Steel, Axis Bank, ICICI Prudential, Central Coalfields Limited and Mahindra & Mahindra.
Special lectures on Universal Human Values and other contemporary issues were also held. The programme concluded with orientations on ERP and digital services, sports, clubs and media opportunities, highlighting XISS’s focus on holistic student development.
