The Adani Foundation marked the 64th birthday of Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani with a nationwide blood donation campaign that collected a record 52,306 units of blood, making it one of the largest voluntary blood donation drives in the country.

Held on June 24, the annual initiative was organized across more than 754 cities, towns and villages in 21 states, five Union Territories and four international locations. The drive surpassed last year’s collection of 28,090 units and was conducted in collaboration with over 764 blood banks.

The campaign, coordinated by the Adani Healthcare team, was inspired by Adani’s guiding philosophy of “Seva hi Sadhana Hai” (service is worship). Thousands of donors participated in the initiative, transforming the occasion into a large-scale movement aimed at supporting healthcare needs and saving lives.

According to the Foundation, the blood collected during the drive amounts to approximately 23,538 litres and is expected to benefit more than 1.56 lakh patients. The donated blood will be processed into critical components such as whole blood, packed cell volume, platelet concentrates, plasma, fresh frozen plasma, cryoprecipitate and albumin, which are essential for emergency treatment, surgeries, cancer care, maternal healthcare and the management of chronic illnesses.

More than 6,000 volunteers, including doctors, paramedics, data operators and administrative personnel from across the Adani Group, contributed to the successful execution of the campaign. The initiative was supported by Red Cross blood banks, government hospitals and trust-run blood banks nationwide.

Adani Foundation Chairperson Priti Adani, in a post on X, expressed gratitude to all participants and healthcare professionals involved in the drive. She said the collective effort would provide hope and support to more than 1.56 lakh patients and their families.

What began in 2011 with just over 1,300 units of blood donated has evolved into an annual tradition and one of India’s largest voluntary blood donation initiatives. The Foundation said the campaign reflects its broader commitment to community welfare and demonstrates how individual acts of generosity can create a significant social impact.
