CM reviews Passing-Out Parade of 340 police personnel in Ranchi
Expresses happiness over more women joining the police force

Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday attended the Basic Trainees Passing-Out Parade Ceremony 2026 at JAP-1 Ground in Doranda, where 340 newly trained police personnel, including four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and 336 constables, formally joined the state police force.
The batch comprised 255 male and 81 female constables, with women accounting for nearly 25 per cent of the trainees. The Chief Minister inspected the parade, paid floral tributes at the martyrs’ memorial on the JAP-1 campus, and presented awards to trainees who excelled in various subjects during their training and final examinations.
Addressing the gathering, Soren congratulated the recruits for successfully completing nearly 30 weeks of rigorous training and highlighted the growing participation of women in the police force.
“The increasing involvement of women in the state police is a matter of pride. We want equal participation of men and women in every sector, and this batch reflects that vision,” he said.
The newly inducted personnel showcased their skills through an impressive march-past and synchronized drill despite heavy rain. They also took an oath pledging discipline, service to the nation and the state, commitment to the Constitution, the dignity of the police force, and dedication to duty.
Emphasising the responsibilities that come with the uniform, the Chief Minister said police personnel are no longer serving only themselves but are entrusted with safeguarding the lives and rights of ordinary citizens.
He urged the recruits to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during training in maintaining law and order and effectively responding to challenges faced by the state. “The outcome of your training should be visible in strengthening law and order and addressing emerging challenges with commitment and professionalism,” he said.
Soren also reiterated the state government’s commitment to strengthening the police department through improved welfare measures. He announced plans to establish modern residential schools for police families and develop dedicated healthcare facilities for police personnel.
Director General and Inspector General of Police Tadasha Mishra, Additional Director General of Police Priya Dubey and other senior police officials were present on the occasion.
