DDC Steps Up Welfare Watch in Dumka; Demolishes Dilapidated School Infrastructure
Dumka:In a major push to streamline grassroots development, Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Aniket Sachan on Thursday conducted a series of surprise inspections across various welfare projects and departmental institutions in the region. The move underscores the administration’s focus on direct beneficiary engagement and structural accountability.
The DDC’s field visit began at Rajbandh village within the Dumka block, where he reviewed the operational efficiency of a solar-based irrigation sprinkler system. Interacting with the local farmers, Sachan emphasized the need to maximize the system’s output to boost agricultural yields. He issued strict instructions to the technical team to ensure routine upkeep so that the farming community reaps long-term sustainable benefits.
Shifting focus to rural drinking water infrastructure, the DDC traveled to a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) habitation in Upar Manjhiara village. After evaluating the functional status of the solar-powered household tap connections, Sachan directed local authorities to set up a rigid monitoring mechanism to prevent any disruption in the daily water supply.
The inspection took a critical turn at the Scheduled Tribe Residential School in Manjhiara. Taking serious note of the crumbling infrastructure, the DDC ordered an immediate halt to utilizing the unsafe premises. He instructed the accompanying Assistant and Junior Engineers to immediately dismantle the old, dilapidated structures and expedite the budget estimations for constructing a modern residential campus.
Wrapping up the drive, the DDC warned officials against laxity in project execution, reiterating that regular maintenance and quality control remain paramount to delivering the true intent of the state’s welfare policies.
