SSP Jamshedpur and SP Seraikela removed
In a major administrative move, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of East Singhbhum and the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Seraikela have been removed from their posts by Chief Minister Mr Hemant Soren. The decision comes in the wake of alleged failure to maintain law and order and negligence in curbing criminal activities. Both officers have now been attached to police headquarters, according to a state government release. Chief Minister Mr Hemant Soren has also posted a message on X (twitter) in this regard.
To strengthen security oversight, the Commissioner of Chaibasa and the Additional Director General (ADG) of Ranchi have been directed to camp continuously in the affected areas. Additionally, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) will remain stationed in Jamshedpur to monitor the situation closely.
This reshuffle underscores the state government’s intent to tighten control and restore public confidence in policing across the region.
