SIR drive launched from transgender’s house in Bokaro

District Election Officer Ajay Nath Jha on Tuesday launched the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 campaign in Bokaro by personally visiting the residence of a transgender voter in Ramnagar Colony, Chas. The initiative highlighted the administration’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible voter is included in the electoral process.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with transgender voters, explained the objectives and procedure of the SIR exercise, and oversaw the distribution of enumeration forms by the Booth Level Officer (BLO). Simultaneously, the form distribution campaign commenced across all blocks of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner said the revision will be conducted in two phases, beginning with the distribution of enumeration forms to all existing electors, followed by the claims and objections process. He appealed to all eligible voters to submit their forms within the stipulated time to ensure an accurate and inclusive electoral roll, adding that SIR 2025–26 marks the country’s tenth Special Intensive Revision since Independence.
Deputy Development Commissioner Shatabdi Majumdar, Electoral Registration Officer-cum-Sub-Divisional Officer (Chas) Pranjal Dhanda, along with other district officials, were present on the occasion.
