Disruptive innovation workshop held for CGMs and HoDs at BSL

Bokaro Steel Plant’s (BSL) Learning & Development Department organised a Disruptive Innovation Identification Workshop for Chief General Managers (CGMs) and Heads of Departments (HoDs) at Bokaro Niwas to promote future-ready thinking and innovation.
The workshop focused on addressing emerging challenges in the global steel industry, including decarbonisation, Industry 4.0 adoption, raw material price volatility, rising customer expectations and global competition. It aimed to generate practical ideas for innovation, cost optimisation, operational efficiency, workplace safety, reduced cycle time and sustainable development.
The programme was inaugurated by the Director In-Charge, BSL, who described disruptive innovation as a key driver of organisational competitiveness and encouraged participants to present bold and practical ideas before the senior management.
An introductory presentation on the workshop objectives was delivered by the Assistant General Manager (HR–L&D). Participants were divided into 12 groups for structured brainstorming sessions, where they developed and presented innovative proposals for consideration by the top management.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by the Chief General Manager (HR–L&D), reaffirming BSL’s commitment to innovation and continuous excellence.
