JPSC yet to declare Civil Judge results even after two yrs
Students are worried. The age limit is approaching. They are tired of preparing for the exam. They are fed up with pleading with the JPSC and making rounds of the High Court and Supreme Court. Now they are even becoming angry. However, the revised PT results for the Jharkhand Civil Judge (Junior Division) exam have not been released, nor is the main exam being held.
This situation is despite the Supreme Court’s order of February 9, 2026, giving the High Court two weeks to form an expert committee to resolve the disputed questions in the PT exam and publish the results. However, even after more than 15 weeks, the revised PT results have not been published. The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) published the Jharkhand Civil Judge (Junior Division) advertisement (22/2023) on August 14, 2023.
Based on this advertisement, 138 Civil Judge (Junior Division) posts are to be filled. Based on this advertisement, the preliminary (PT) exam was held on March 10, 2024. Its results were also published on July 2, 2024. Along with this, applications for the main exam were also invited from candidates who passed the PT exam. In this context, some students filed a petition in the High Court regarding the cut-off marks.
They claimed that three questions were incorrect and their marks should be added. The High Court agreed with the candidates’ argument and ordered the publication of the revised PT results. However, the JPSC appealed to the Supreme Court against the High Court’s decision. In its subsequent decision, the Supreme Court gave the High Court two weeks to form an expert committee to resolve the disputed PT exam questions and publish the results.
However, the revised PT results have not yet been published. Consequently, the main exam is also unable to be conducted. Thus, students who have been preparing for this exam for the past three years are now facing difficulties.
