A high level delegation of the State led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren left for New Delhi on Tuesday afternoon to participate in the two-day National Stakeholders Consultation scheduled for July 8 and 9, where the state government will present Jharkhand’s industrial, technological and tourism potential before leading policymakers, industry leaders and technology experts.
The Chief Minister departed for the national capital on a special flight at around 3 pm. Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Industries Secretary Arava Raj Kamal and several senior government officials also accompanied the state delegation.
The consultation, themed “Explore Infinite Opportunities,” aims to position Jharkhand as an emerging destination for investments in information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), manufacturing and tourism. The state government believes the event will provide a platform to accelerate digital transformation and encourage AI-driven development across governance, administration and public service delivery.
As part of the consultation, the government has invited nearly 100 leading IT companies, policymakers and technology experts from India and abroad. Officials will showcase the state’s investment ecosystem, including the IT Park established in Ranchi, and outline opportunities for technology firms to expand their presence in Jharkhand.
A key highlight of the event will be the presentation of the proposed Draft AI Policy 2026-31, on which the government will seek expert feedback before finalisation. The state will also announce its plan to establish a State AI Mission, with JAP-IT serving as the nodal agency. The mission aims to develop a dedicated Jharkhand AI Cloud to strengthen digital governance, improve transparency and enhance the efficiency of government services.
To attract fresh investments, the government will highlight a package of incentives for industries, including 100 per cent exemption on stamp duty, 100 per cent waiver of electricity duty, 50 per cent reimbursement of capital investment and access to a skilled workforce, with more than 20,000 IT graduates entering the job market annually.
The consultation will begin on July 8 with sessions on digital governance, IT infrastructure and leadership dialogue, followed by discussions on shaping Jharkhand’s AI future. On July 9, deliberations will focus on tourism, investment, inclusive development and industrial promotion. The event will conclude with the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with various companies, expected to pave the way for new investments and partnerships in the state.
