Chairman of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly’s Unstarred Questions Implementation Committee, Suresh Paswan, on Wednesday directed district officials to ensure that replies to unstarred Assembly questions are submitted within the prescribed timeline and with complete factual accuracy.
Chairing a review meeting at the Circuit House in Garhwa, Paswan said delays or negligence in matters related to Assembly proceedings would not be tolerated. He instructed departments to improve coordination and dispose of all pending matters within the stipulated time frame.
He stressed that every unstarred question received from the Legislative Assembly must be answered promptly, factually and comprehensively, warning that any lapse in handling Assembly business would be viewed seriously.
The committee reviewed the status of pending and disposed questions across several departments, including Road Construction, Water Resources, Power, Urban Development, Health, Agriculture, Welfare, Food and Civil Supplies, Tourism and Mining. Departmental officials presented progress reports and outlined the action taken on pending cases.
Paswan also called for greater transparency, efficiency and accountability in dealing with Assembly-related matters and urged officials to expedite pending cases to ensure timely implementation of government welfare schemes.
Committee members Naresh Prasad Singh and Ram Surya Munda attended the meeting along with senior district administration officials from various departments.
