The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee will organise a Student Marathon in Ranchi on July 12 as part of its ongoing “Chhatron Ki Goonj” campaign aimed at engaging students from educational institutions across the state.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, programme convener Dr. Kumar Raja said the marathon is part of a series of student outreach initiatives launched by the party. Earlier, student conventions and interactive programmes were held under the campaign to encourage youth participation and discuss issues concerning students.
Participation in the marathon will be free for all students. Winners will receive cash prizes, while participants in other categories will be awarded smartwatches.
Dr. Kumar Raja said the event will be attended by Jharkhand Congress president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, ministers Deepika Pandey Singh, Shilpi Neha Tirkey and Dr. Irfan Ansari, along with several senior party leaders. He also announced that prominent student leader and All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary Kanhaiya Kumar will participate in the programme.
He said the marathon is focused on student welfare and aims to raise awareness among young people about issues such as examination paper leaks and delays in government recruitment. “Students should understand the reasons behind recurring paper leaks and the prolonged wait for employment opportunities,” Kumar Raja said.
The Congress said the initiative seeks to connect with students and encourage dialogue on education, employment and youth-related issues.
