With elections to two Rajya Sabha seats in Jharkhand approaching, political parties and alliances are yet to announce their official candidates, keeping the political landscape uncertain.
Amid this suspense, independent candidate Ravi Kumar Yadav, also known as Ravi Peter, purchased his nomination form on Thursday. A resident of Hussainabad in Palamu district, Yadav is the Central President of the Jharkhand Ulgulan Morcha.
Speaking to the media, Yadav pointed out that four days have already passed since the nomination process began, yet no party has declared its candidate. He claimed that legislators in the state are still exploring options and expressed confidence in securing victory.
Yadav also raised concerns over the candidate selection process in Rajya Sabha elections. He noted that in the past 25 years, Jharkhand has witnessed 14 Rajya Sabha elections, including bypolls, but political parties have often prioritized their own gains while selecting candidates.
Alleging irregularities, he further stated that corruption is often openly visible in Rajya Sabha elections, with financially strong candidates frequently receiving preference from political parties.
With no official names announced so far, the coming days are expected to be crucial as parties finalize their strategies for the upcoming polls.
