One can now enjoy the Durand Cup for free. Spectators will be provided with free “Free of Charge Tickets” to watch the 135th Durand Cup 2026 matches, starting July 26th in Ranchi. The tickets will be distributed through 12 ticket counters set up in the Morabadi Stadium complex starting July.
During a review meeting chaired by Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, the meeting overseeing the tournament’s preparation, stated that no fee would be charged for these tickets. He directed all concerned departments to complete the preparations within the stipulated timeframe.
“Everyone must present a valid ID to obtain a ticket. Tickets will be distributed daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For your information, ‘Zero Tickets’ have a zero value. These tickets are provided free of charge to spectators. Furthermore, these tickets are distributed keeping in mind security measures and to ensure orderly and controlled spectator entry,” Bhajantri said.
Sports Director Chhavi Ranjan informed the press conference that Chief Minister Hemant Soren will inaugurate the opening match of the Ranchi leg. Indian Army representative Manoj Kumar Jha was also present at the press conference. He informed that preparations for the event at the Birsa Munda Football Stadium are being finalized.
During the review meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the deployment of adequate magistrates and police personnel at all ticket counters. Furthermore, emphasis was placed on strengthening parking, traffic management, entry and exit arrangements, crowd control, CCTV surveillance, security checks, and the control room.
Bhajantri also directed for safe movement of players and team officials, timely provision of all basic facilities like ambulance, medical team, doctors, essential medicines, fire brigade, drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation and toilets.
