The AJSU Party on Wednesday alleged serious irregularities in the recruitment process of JPSC and called for an independent CBI investigation.
Addressing a press conference at the party’s central office in Harmu, AJSU central general secretary and former MLA Dr Lambodar Mahto and chief spokesperson Dr Devsharan Bhagat alleged that the state government was attempting to cover up the alleged irregularities instead of ensuring transparency.
Dr Mahto questioned the engagement of TDPL, the private agency that conducted the examination, claiming it had faced scrutiny and restrictions in other states.
He further referred to reports claiming that a large number of candidates selected under the general category were from outside Jharkhand, saying the issue required clarification from the commission. He also alleged that questions related to OMR sheets and other aspects of the examination remained unanswered.
Dr Bhagat said serious questions had arisen regarding the roles of the government, the commission and the examination agency, and called for a transparent investigation into the matter. He argued that any financial or administrative irregularities in the recruitment process must be independently examined.
The party also pointed to the ongoing protests by JPSC aspirants outside the commission’s office, claiming they reflected a growing loss of confidence among candidates in the recruitment process.
AJSU Party demanded that the entire episode, including alleged financial irregularities, be investigated by the CBI and other competent central agencies. The party warned that if the government failed to act promptly, it would intensify its democratic agitation in support of the state’s youth.
The press conference was also attended by AJSU youth leaders, including Amit Yadav, Jaykant Kashyap and Pratap Singh.
