One more theft in a government school taking the total to 3 in a week.
The tally of theft is 1 in Latehar district where miscreants stole 2 sets of football jerseys while 2 incidents are in Palamu district where the thieves removed biometric devices etc and in this latest one, 3 solar panels were stolen.
The latest theft occurred in the Rajykrit Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya, Musrumu under the Ramgarh police station in Palamu district.
Incharge of the school Junul Surin said an FIR has been lodged with the local police on Thursday July 23 against unidentified miscreants.
3 solar panels fixed atop the school kitchen shed were stolen on the night of July 22/23, Surin said.Officer in charge of the Ramgarh police station Om Prakash Sao said police have begun its investigation.
Despite this government middle school being an upgraded school, imparting teaching upto class 8, the number of the enrolled students here is less than 50.
On this miserable enrolment he said families are so poverty stricken that their school going age children prefer assisting mothers to eking out a living to enrolling in the school.
Surin said “It’s 48 enrolment here. The average attendance during the mid day meal is around 20 to 22.” There are 2 para teachers working here.
