Indian Veterinary Association celebrates World Environment Day

World Environment Day was celebrated at Saudag village in Ranchi under the aegis of the Indian Veterinary Association (IVA), New Delhi, in collaboration with Kashvi Trust, with villagers, women, social workers and environmental enthusiasts participating in the programme.
Speaking as the invited guest, noted environmentalist Dr. Nitish Priyadarshi of Ranchi University stressed the need to protect nature and warned of the consequences of environmental degradation. He highlighted various geological and ecological challenges and called for sustainable environmental practices.
Chief Guest Dr. Samson Toppo emphasized the importance of afforestation, reducing plastic use and conserving non-renewable resources. Village Mukhiya Patras Tirkey urged residents to take part in plantation activities and educate children about environmental conservation.
A plantation drive was organised during the event, with dignitaries and village women planting saplings. Fruit-bearing plants, including jackfruit, guava, mango and custard apple, donated by Team Green NGO, were distributed among villagers. Team Green representatives Harindar and Puja Jha outlined the organisation’s efforts to promote greenery and environmental awareness.
Dr. Umesh Chandra Sharma, President of the Indian Veterinary Association, New Delhi, advocated for regular awareness campaigns on environmental issues and appreciated the organisers for their initiative.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Nandani Kumari, National Spokesperson of IVA, while Amit Anal, Technical Head of Kashvi Trust, delivered the vote of thanks.
