Lohardaga MP Sukhdev Bhagat reacted sharply to the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, calling it a moral defeat for the central government and the first major victory of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s two-year struggle. He said that this resignation was not voluntary, but the result of ever-increasing pressure from students, youth, and the opposition. MP Sukhdev Bhagat said that the campaign launched by Rahul Gandhi two years ago for the future of the country’s students and transparency in the education system has yielded its first significant results today.
He said that Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is not a testament to his sensitivity, but a sign of the government’s capitulation to public pressure. He said that the manner in which youth and students across the country have raised their voices against injustice proves that their demands are justified. If a sustained democratic struggle is waged on genuine issues, even the most arrogant government is forced to yield. The Education Minister’s resignation is the result of this struggle.
MP Bhagat said that this is only the beginning. Under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, the fight for the rights of students and youth will continue. He claimed that this development makes it clear that the voices of those who question government policies cannot be suppressed for long and that democratic struggle ultimately wins.
