With a massive influx of devotees expected during the ongoing Shravani Mela, Deoghar Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvaniya and Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar on Monday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Baba Baidyanath temple premises and key mela routes to assess security arrangements, administrative preparedness, and the availability of essential facilities for pilgrims.
The senior officials undertook a detailed review of the major routes leading to the temple, including Khijuria, Ranga Mod, Darshaniya Mod, Shivganga, Nehru Park, Shivram Jha Chowk, Tiwari Chowk, B.Ed College and Bermasia Nandan Pahad. During the inspection, they examined the condition of walking paths used by kanwariyas, sanitation measures, maintenance of public toilets, availability of safe drinking water, street lighting, and arrangements at holding points designed to manage crowd movement.
Emphasising the need for seamless coordination among departments, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to ensure that all facilities remain fully functional throughout the fair. He said the faith and convenience of devotees visiting Baba Dham remained the district administration’s highest priority and instructed all officers to discharge their responsibilities with dedication and a spirit of service. He also warned that any negligence or laxity in mela preparations or in providing facilities to pilgrims would not be tolerated.
Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, Municipal Commissioner Sulochana Meena, District Nazarat Deputy Superintendent Mukesh Kumar, Assistant Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar Vidyarthi, members of the DMFT team, the Executive Engineer and other concerned officials were also present during the inspection.
