BSL honours Eco-Innovators on World Environment Day

Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) observed World Environment Day with a series of awareness programmes and campaigns aimed at promoting environmental conservation and sustainable development. Winners of various initiatives were felicitated at an award ceremony jointly organised by BSL and the Institution of Engineers (India), Bokaro Centre.

Four students from Dantu village were presented the Eco-Innovation Award for their innovative project on the use of a solar dryer. Several projects from the plant, township and hospitals were also recognised for their contribution to sustainability and environmental protection.

The Energy Management Department received special appreciation for its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through innovative and sustainable initiatives.

The programme also featured a lecture on “Climate Change and Nature-Based Solutions,” highlighting the importance of Mission LiFE and the role of engineers in building a sustainable and environment-friendly society.
