Over 375 students and teachers of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s live address on Sunday under the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ campaign, reaffirming their commitment to a drug-free India.
Organised at the school’s seminar hall with the support of the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Bokaro, the programme focused on creating awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraging students to adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
The event began with a peace prayer and the recitation of Gita Panchamrit, followed by speeches, slam poetry and a street play on drug abuse. Students, teachers and guests also took the Nasha Mukt Bharat pledge.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi described youth as the nation’s greatest strength and the backbone of a developed India. Urging young people to stay away from drugs, he said addiction destroys not only individuals but also the dreams of their families, and called for the campaign to become a nationwide people’s movement.
School Secretary Mahesh Tripathi, Treasurer R. N. Malik, Principal Suraj Sharma, Senior Vice-Principal Narendra Kumar and Vice-Principal Dr Roshan Sharma were present. The programme was coordinated by Subrata Gupta and the School Student Council.
