Awareness rath flagged off to promote mango production

June 7, 2026

PNS

Deoghar

Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania, Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha on 6 June 2026 flagged off a special Awareness Rath from the Development Bhawan premises.

The rath has been launched to encourage mango production across the district under the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana and to create awareness among farmers regarding better marketing of fruits.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that the main objective of the administration is to connect local farmers’ produce with the right markets and increase their income. Through this Awareness Rath, farmers in rural areas will be provided important information on fruit cultivation, scientific maintenance, and effective marketing techniques.

After flagging off the Awareness Rath, the DDC inspected the mango sales stall set up by the women members (Didis) of Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) Sakhis Mandals within the Development Bhawan premises.

He appreciated the quality and packaging of the locally grown mangoes kept for sale at the stall. Encouraging the Didis, he described JSLPS’s initiative as commendable for making rural women economically self-reliant. He noted that by connecting producers directly with consumers, the role of middlemen will be eliminated, allowing the women to receive fair and direct returns for their hard work.

He also appealed to the residents of the district to support these stalls by purchasing from them, thereby promoting local produce and women empowerment.
