Devotees visiting the Rajkiya Shravani Mela 2026 will now be able to experience the rich religious and cultural heritage of Baba Baidyanath Dham through Virtual Reality (VR) technology, with the Deoghar district administration launching dedicated VR camps across the mela area on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuwania and Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar inaugurated the first VR Camp at the Shivalok complex, marking the introduction of the technology-driven initiative aimed at enhancing the pilgrimage experience for lakhs of devotees.
Addressing the media, the DC said this year’s Shravani Mela is being organised with a strong focus on modern technology alongside improved safety and convenience for pilgrims. He said the administration is making every effort to provide better facilities while preserving the spiritual significance of the annual festival.
According to the district administration, a total of 10 VR camps have been established at key locations across the mela area. Through immersive virtual reality, devotees can explore the history of Baba Baidyanath Temple, learn about the legend behind the establishment of the sacred Shivling, discover Deoghar’s historical and cultural heritage, and gain information about various welfare schemes being implemented by the Jharkhand government.
The VR camps have been set up at Shivalok (two), Shivganga (two), Jalsar (one), Khijuria (one), Deoghar Railway Station (one), Jasidih Railway Station (one), Baghmara Bus Stand (one) and Kothia Bus Stand (one).
Officials said the initiative is expected to provide pilgrims with an engaging and informative experience while helping them connect more closely with the religious and historical significance of Baba Nagri.
DDC Piyush Sinha, Municipal Commissioner Sulochana Meena, District Public Relations Officer Rahul Kumar Bharti, Assistant Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar Vidyarthi and other district officials were present during the inauguration.
