Delhi Public School (DPS), Ranchi, on Thursday inaugurated the Inter DPS Quiz Competition (Zone IV) under the aegis of the Delhi Public School Society, New Delhi, bringing together students from 23 Delhi Public Schools across eastern and northeastern India for a two-day celebration of knowledge and intellectual excellence.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Dolly Chanana, Director of the Delhi Public School Society, as the chief guest, while Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar, Professor of Integrative Plant Biology at the Central University of Jharkhand, participated as the special guest. Quizmaster Adittya Nath Mubayi, Co-Founder of Quizcraft Global Knowledge Solutions, and management specialist Kamran Akram Ansari were also present.
The event has drawn 90 students and 36 escort teachers representing 23 DPS institutions from states including Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Nagaland and Uttar Pradesh.
Welcoming the participants, DPS Ranchi Principal Dr. Jaya Chauhan said quizzes play a vital role in holistic education by encouraging students to think beyond textbooks and engage with science, history, literature, culture and current affairs. She urged participants to view the competition as an opportunity to learn, build friendships and develop confidence rather than merely compete for trophies.
Addressing the gathering, Dolly Chanana described knowledge as a powerful tool for transformation and encouraged students to cultivate curiosity, critical thinking and analytical skills. She said quiz competitions help nurture teamwork, discipline, humility and sportsmanship while preparing students for a knowledge-driven world.
Prof. Manoj Kumar highlighted the importance of inquiry-based learning, urging students to question, analyse evidence and connect ideas across disciplines.
Quizmaster Adittya Nath Mubayi briefed participants on the competition rules and format.
The main quiz competition will be held on August 7, followed by the prize distribution ceremony.
