A weekly press conference on the Rajkiya Shravani Mela 2026 was held on 13 August 2026 at the R.L. Sarraf High School media centre, jointly chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saurabh Kumar Bhuwania and Superintendent of Police (SP) Praveen Pushkar.
The DC reported robust administrative arrangements across the mela zone. He said that between 30 July and 11 August 2026, around 28 lakh Kanwariyas offered Jalabhishek to Baba Baidyanath, including 92,134 using Sheeghra Darshan coupons.
During the same period temple revenue collection reached Rs 3,54,59,011, with Sheeghra Darshan coupons accounting for ₹2,91,19,680.
The DC also briefed about administrative preparations for mela. 597 magistrates, 6,763 police personnel, four SPs, three CRPF companies, and NDRF/SDRF teams. Along with this 21 temporary outposts, 13 traffic outposts, plus ATS, RAF, bomb disposal, dog squad, and QRT deployment. 925 CCTV cameras, 225 AI cameras, and 5 drones are in service for surveillance. Through public redressal, 65 complaints resolved via online QR code systems.
As part of Public Services & Amenities, 35 temporary health centres treated 98,436 devotees (66,141 men, 28,414 women, 3,791 children). 111 doctors, 470 paramedical staff, and 46 emergency vehicles are active.
77 locations configured, including three tent cities (2,750 total beds) and Adhyatmik Bhawan (700 beds). 48 bathing complexes, 323 toilets, 16 Indravarsha showers, 76 handpumps, and 9 water kiosks operational.
Also 34 information centres with 220 announcers registered 49,257 lost Kanwariyas and reunited 34,561 with family. Support funds totaling ₹13,900 were provided to 245 devotees.
Commercial Revenue & Utilities-Commercial Tax: ₹203.71 lakh collected (1–12 August). Transport Dept.: ₹38,37,000 collected in entry fees. Municipal Corporation: Revenue totaled ₹1,06,50,000.
The electricity department generated ₹55,29,810 from temporary connections across 39 control rooms and 10 sub-stations, addressing 905 complaints.
The Shivlok complex features Amarnath and Sri Kalahasti temple exhibitions drawing 15,000–17,000 visitors daily. Highlights include a laser show at Shivganga, VR mythological shows at 10 locations, and LED displays at 31 sites.
With two Shravan Mondays remaining, DC Bhuwania assured that officials remain on high alert to handle the expected high surge of devotees and set new operational benchmarks.
Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha highlighted the important role of the media in the success of the mela, while Municipal Commissioner Sulochana Meena briefed the gathering on various works being undertaken by the Municipal Corporation.
Also present at the press conference were District Public Relations Officer Rahul Kumar Bharti, District Planning Officer and In-charge of Confidential Branch Mukesh Kumar, Assistant Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar Vidyarthi, representatives of various media organisations and public relations personnel.
