A 21-kund Havan ceremony and character-building camp was organised at DAV School, Pakur, on Thursday with prayers for world peace, awareness against substance abuse and the welfare of humanity.
The programme was organised in collaboration with the Gayatri Parivar of Pakur. Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Sanjeet Kumar Chandra, Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Arvind Lal and District Supply Officer (DSO) Rahul Kumar attended the event as chief guests and participated in the Havan by offering ritual oblations.
Addressing the gathering, CJM Sanjeet Kumar Chandra said DAV institutions focus not only on academic education but also on the character development of students. He said such programmes help inculcate values, discipline and a sense of responsibility among children.
DDC Arvind Lal appreciated the initiative and said that education should go beyond textbooks and contribute to building responsible and morally strong citizens. He emphasised the importance of character-building among young people.
Teachers and students of the school also participated in the Havan and offered prayers for peace, harmony and a positive environment in society.
The programme conveyed a message that staying away from substance abuse and promoting love, peace and social harmony are essential for building a healthy and happy society.
The event concluded with prayers for world peace, human welfare and the well-being of all, with the participants reaffirming their commitment to a drug-free and harmonious society.
