The Jharkhand Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee organised a grand Sawan Milan ceremony in Ranchi on Monday, August 17, with hundreds of women party workers and office-bearers from different districts participating enthusiastically.
The programme was attended by Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee in-charge K. Raju as the chief guest. Minister Deepika Pandey Singh was present as the guest of honour. Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, co-in-charges Dr Bela Prasad and Bhupendra Maravi, and former Union minister Subodh Kant Sahay were also present.
Women Congress leaders and workers from the state and district levels participated in the celebration with traditional enthusiasm. Among those present were Pratibha Pandey, Abha Sinha, Sita Rana, Nitima Badi, Meenu Singh, Yashwini Sahay, Neetu Devi, Mary Tirkey, Sushma Kumari, Sunita Gop, Sangeeta Pradhan, Baby Singh, Shikha Singh and Usha Singh, along with hundreds of women workers from various districts.
During the event, discussions were held on strengthening the Congress organisation at the grassroots level, increasing the active participation of women in the party and promoting social and religious harmony.
Speakers said that such programmes play an important role in strengthening camaraderie, brotherhood and organisational unity among party workers.
The women workers also took a pledge to work continuously towards promoting mutual love, brotherhood and harmony in society, while striving for women’s rights, dignity and empowerment.
The Sawan Milan ceremony organised by the Jharkhand Pradesh Mahila Congress concluded with a message of social harmony, cultural unity and organisational solidarity.
