Several political leaders and social figures paid floral tributes to tribal icon Birsa Munda at his memorial near Distillery Bridge in Ranchi on the occasion of his death anniversary on Monday.

Among those present were land donor Aditya Vikram Jaiswal, Jharkhand Congress general secretary Alok Kumar Dubey, Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo, Rajeev Ranjan Prasad, Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Satish Pal Munjini, and Ujjwal Prakash Tiwari, who offered homage and remembered the legacy of the revered leader.

Aditya Vikram Jaiswal, whose family had donated the land for the memorial at Kokar, recalled the historic contribution of his ancestors. He reiterated his commitment to supporting the expansion of the memorial site and highlighted his continued efforts towards its upkeep, cleanliness, and beautification, including the development of the nearby Distillery pond. He has also been actively raising concerns related to the maintenance of the site and regularly pays tribute on significant occasions such as Birsa Munda’s birth and death anniversaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Congress leader Rajeev Ranjan Prasad said that inspired by Birsa Munda’s ideals, the government remains committed to strengthening law and order in the state, bringing prosperity to the poor, and waging a decisive fight against corruption. He added that the government would not hesitate to make any sacrifice required to safeguard public interest.

Several others, including Krishna Sahay, Anil Singh, Gaurav Vishal, Asif Ziaul, Mehul Dubey, Shivam Singh, Suraj Jha, Adnan Sheikh, Shivraj Singh, Abhinav Tiwari, Akash Singh, Ravi Ram, and others, were also present at the programme.
