Under the special campaign “One Rakhi for Our Soldiers” being conducted by the India Post, Lohardaga Division, on the occasion of Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan, a rakhi-making competition was organized on Friday at PM Shri Government Middle School, Nawari Para. The programme was presided over by Headmaster Arun Ram, while Postal Inspector Rahul Kumar Singh was present as the chief guest. During the programme, Singh highlighted the contribution and dedication of soldiers who remain away from their families during festivals such as Raksha Bandhan while remaining committed to protecting the nation.
He stated that the campaign was aimed at conveying the message that the entire country stood with the soldiers and that the handmade rakhis represented the affection, gratitude and respect of the nation towards them. Headmaster Arun Ram emphasized the educational and social significance of the initiative, noting that the competition would help develop creativity and handicraft skills among students while also strengthening patriotism, respect for cultural values and admiration for the armed forces. The students participated enthusiastically and prepared attractive rakhis using paper, cotton, silk threads and other eco-friendly materials. The three students whose rakhis were adjudged the best were awarded prizes for their creativity and craftsmanship.
It was informed that all selected rakhis would be formally packed and dispatched through India Post to Indian Army units stationed in Jammu and Kashmir, enabling the soldiers to receive the affection and good wishes of the children on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Niketh Bhagat, Gagan Kumar, Sumit Rai, Rahul Kumar, Anup Ekka, Nemhanti Minz, Sumitra Toppo, Ujabela Tirkey, Neelam Kumari and members of the Mata Committee were among those present on the occasion.
