Three of family killed over land dispute in W Singhbhum, two held

Three members of a family, including a 12-year-old boy, were allegedly killed over a land dispute in Kenzra village under Tonto police station in West Singhbhum district, police said.
The deceased have been identified as a man, his wife and their 12-year-old son. Police said two main accused were arrested in connection with the triple murder and the bodies of the victims and the weapon allegedly used in the crime were recovered.
According to police, the killings were allegedly carried out with an axe following an old dispute between the families. The accused allegedly concealed the bodies in an attempt to destroy evidence.
During interrogation, the two arrested youths allegedly confessed to the crime and told police that the murders were linked to a land dispute. Acting on information provided by the accused, police recovered the bodies of all three victims.
The police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident and further legal action is underway.
