A meeting of the District Steering and Monitoring Committee under the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) scheme was held in the Collectorate chamber under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuwania.
During the meeting the DC reviewed earlier directives and issued clear instructions to Education Department officials to ensure 100% compliance. Several important decisions were taken to make the implementation of the Mid-Day Meal scheme more transparent and effective.
The DC directed that a panchayat-wise roster be prepared for regular checks to ensure the purity and nutritional quality of the food provided to children. He instructed concerned officials to personally visit schools and inspect the quality of meals so that students receive wholesome and hygienic food.
Special emphasis was laid on improving children’s coverage (enrollment under the scheme) and daily attendance in schools. Officials were asked to work according to a concrete action plan to achieve these goals. To further strengthen the scheme at the grassroots level, the DC announced that teachers and staff who perform outstanding and commendable work under the Mid-Day Meal scheme will be rewarded by the district administration.
Among those present were Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, the District Education Officer, District Education Superintendent, all Block Officers, the Assistant Public Relations Officer, all Block Programme Officers, and other officials and staff of the concerned departments.
