Sido Kanhu Murmu University has effected a wide-ranging administrative overhaul, with the Vice-Chancellor appointing faculty members to directorship positions across various academic and operational wings for a term of three years. The official order, notified under provisions of Sections 22 to 38 of the Jharkhand State Universities Act, 2026, directs all appointee educators to execute their designated administrative roles concurrently with their regular teaching assignments.
The appointments span core areas of campus innovation, student welfare, quality monitoring, and institutional relations. The Research, Innovation, Incubation, Industry Linkage, and Entrepreneurship wing will be headed by Dr. Achyut Chetan of the English Department, while Dr. Rajesh Yadav from the Physics wing will lead Information Technology and Digital Learning initiatives. In the student and community development sectors, Dr. Binay Kumar Sinha assumes responsibility for Lifelong Learning and Education, Dr. Punam Hembrom takes charge of Student Affairs, and Dr. Poonam Binjha from S.P. College leads the National Service Scheme.
Campus sports, cultural vibrancy, and inclusivity have also been prioritized in the latest reshuffle. Dr. S.T. Khan has been given charge of Sports and Physical Education, Dr. Sumitra Hembrom of S.P. College will look after Inclusive Education, and Dr. Anjula Murmu has been appointed to direct Student Art and Culture. Furthermore, career and quality development wings see Dr. Nilesh Kumar directing the Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Dr. Sujit Kumar Soren spearheading Internship, Apprenticeship, and Placement activities.
The university has appointed Dr. Rajeev Ranjan Sinha to lead Public Relations and Community Outreach, while institutional liaisoning will be managed by Dr. Amita Kumari as Director of Constituent Colleges and Dr. Rajiv Kerketta as Director of Affiliated Colleges. The notifications have been communicated to state education authorities in Ranchi as well as all institutional heads and deans across the varsity network for immediate effect.
