Administration reviews special certificate drive in Dumka

June 19, 2026

Kumar Prabhat

Dumka

Deputy Commissioner Abhijit Sinha intensified the administrative monitoring of the ongoing ‘Abua Caste-Residence Certificate Campaign’ by conducting a detailed field inspection of the special camps operational in the Jama block of the district on Thursday. The top district official visited the Chigal Pahari Panchayat Secretariat and the Government Middle School in Nonihatwari to assess the ground-level implementation of the state-sponsored drive.

During the inspection, Sinha took stock of the overall logistics, scrutinizing the total volume of applications received, the verification machinery, and the actual delivery rate of the certificates. He walked through the venues to evaluate the public amenities, specifically inspecting the seating layouts and the availability of drinking water for the visiting villagers. To gauge the public mood and address potential gaps, the Deputy Commissioner also engaged in one-on-one interactions with the local applicants gathered at the site.

Issuing stern directives to the camp handlers and circle officials, Sinha stated that the issuance of caste and residential certificates must remain strictly transparent and bound to tight deadlines. He reminded the administrative team that these documents serve as the primary gateway for rural communities to access welfare benefits, meaning any lapse or exclusion would directly impact the marginalized sections.

Reviewing the pendency data on-site, the DC ordered the immediate disposal of all backlog applications, warning against administrative lethargy. He emphasized that the operational chain needs to be entirely hassle-free so that citizens do not have to make repeated rounds of government offices. Sinha concluded the visit by instructing the support staff to set up dedicated help desks at the venues to guide illiterate and elderly applicants through the documentation process smoothly.
