Ban on commercial use of domestic LPG in Shravani Mela

In preparation for the Rajkiya Shravani Mela 2026, a significant review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania with officials of IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited) to streamline gas supply arrangements and prevent the illegal commercial use of domestic LPG cylinders.
During the meeting, the DC issued clear instructions that, keeping in view the convenience and safety of devotees, the use of domestic LPG cylinders in commercial establishments within the mela area will not be allowed under any circumstances. All hotels, dhabas, restaurants, sweet shops, tea stalls, and other commercial establishments in the mela area must use only 19 kg commercial (commercial) gas cylinders.
He further stated that the 5 kg small cylinder has been primarily designed for the immediate needs of small families, migrants, and travellers. Therefore, devotees can use 5 kg small gas cylinders (such as IOCL’s ‘Chhotu’ cylinder) for their personal use, such as cooking their own meals. directed IOCL officials to ensure adequate and uninterrupted supply and availability of 19 kg commercial cylinders for all commercial establishments in the mela area so that no shopkeeper faces any difficulty. He also gave necessary instructions to IOCL officials to maintain a smooth and secure gas supply chain across the entire mela area for the successful conduct of the Rajkiya Shravani Mela.
