State-owned Bank of Baroda (BoB) has reported a robust financial performance for the second quarter of the financial year 2025-26, registering a 23.2 per cent year-on-year jump in standalone net profit to ₹5,238 crore, driven by healthy business growth, improved asset quality, and strong non-interest income.
The bank’s net profit for the first half of FY25 also rose by 16.5 per cent to ₹9,696 crore from ₹8,323 crore recorded during the corresponding period last year, reflecting sustained momentum in its core banking operations.
The impressive earnings were backed by a 12 per cent rise in operating income during the quarter, supported by a 24.2 per cent increase in non-interest income. Higher trading gains, along with strong recoveries from technically written-off accounts, significantly contributed to the bank’s improved profitability.
Bank of Baroda reported a net interest income (NII) of ₹11,622 crore for the quarter, an increase of 7.3 per cent over the same period last year. Operating profit climbed 18.2 per cent year-on-year to ₹9,477 crore, while the bank successfully reduced its cost-to-income ratio to 43.6 per cent, nearly three percentage points lower than the previous year, indicating improved operational efficiency.
