As student protests intensify over alleged irregularities and paper leaks in competitive examinations—including the JPSC and JSSC—the Opposition in Jharkhand has escalated its demands for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced statewide demonstrations at all district headquarters, preceded by a torchlight procession (Mashal Julous) organized by its Youth Wing (Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha).
Addressing the media at the state party headquarters, BJP State General Secretary Amar Kumar Bauri demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Hemant Soren on moral grounds. Bauri accused the Congress-backed state government of ruining the future of the state’s youth for political gain and attempting to cover up scams through a Crime Investigation Department (CID) probe.
The BJP cited recurring issues in major exams, including JPSC, JSSC CGL, Junior Engineer, and the Constable recruitment drive (where 13 candidates tragically died during physical tests). The government was accused of awarding exam contracts to previously blacklisted companies.
The BJP also alleged that officials within testing bodies are favoring relatives for government posts. Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s legislative efforts, Bauri noted that Parliament passed strict anti-paper leak legislation to protect job aspirants nationwide.
The Opposition urged Congress to withdraw support from the government and warned that if a CBI probe is not ordered immediately, protests will escalate from the streets to the Legislative Assembly.
