Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha on Tuesday conducted a joint inspection of Bokaro Airport with officials from the Airport Authority of India (AAI) and Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) to review infrastructure, maintenance and operational preparedness ahead of the proposed Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) inspection.
The inspection was attended by Jharkhand Civil Aviation Managing Director Capt. S.P. Sinha, Trainee IAS Arvind Radhakrishnan, Additional Collector Sunil Chandra, AAI official Manoj Kumar, the Chief General Manager of SAIL Aviation and other district officials. The team reviewed the runway, boarding area, airport premises and other key facilities.
Directing officials to complete all preparatory works on time, the Deputy Commissioner stressed regular cleanliness and proper maintenance of the airport premises. He instructed that overgrown grass, shrubs and other unwanted vegetation be cleared to ensure the airport meets DGCA standards before the inspection.
Jha also reviewed issues related to airport operations and maintenance, directing AAI and SAIL to expedite coordination and necessary action for the early resolution of pending matters. Discussions were also held on the airport’s development, operations and maintenance, with officials being asked to ensure timely completion of all remaining works.
