Marking World Tribal Day, the Bokaro Tribal Festival-2026 began in a grand and traditional manner at Shibu Soren Memorial Bhawan (Town Hall) on Sunday. The festival was formally inaugurated by Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation and Excise & Prohibition, Jharkhand Government, Yogendra Prasad, Chandankiyari MLA Umakant Rajak, Bokaro MLA Shweta Singh, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha, Superintendent of Police Nathu Singh Meena and Deputy Development Commissioner Shatabdi Majumdar, along with other dignitaries, through a joint ceremonial lamp lighting.
The guests were accorded a warm welcome with traditional tribal music and cultural performances, setting the tone for the celebrations. The venue reflected the rich diversity of tribal culture, folk traditions and heritage through vibrant performances and presentations.
Senior district officials, elected representatives, officials and employees from various departments, artists, cultural groups and a large number of citizens attended the event.
The festival highlighted the importance of preserving tribal traditions and cultural heritage while carrying them forward to future generations.
