Kaushik Kumar Hota, an Integrated B.A. B.Ed. student of the Department of Education at the Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ), has brought laurels to the university after earning official recognition from Guinness World Records for participating in a national-level online quiz.
The quiz was organised through the MY Bharat Portal under the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. A total of 390,812 people from across the country participated in the event, which achieved the record for “The most users to take an online quiz in one week.” Guinness World Records officially verified and authenticated the achievement.
The recognition adds to Hota’s growing list of accomplishments. His name has previously been featured in the India Book of Records, Asia Book of Records, International Book of Records, America Book of Records and Golden Book of Records.
Alongside his academic pursuits, Hota has a keen interest in writing books and participating in creative and record-setting activities. His achievements have received appreciation from several distinguished personalities, including former Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal and Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar. Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has also appreciated his record-setting efforts.
Congratulating Hota, CUJ Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sarang Medhekar said the achievement was a matter of pride for the entire university. He said accomplishments of students enhance the university’s identity and inspire others to pursue their goals with dedication, hard work and perseverance.
Hota comes from a family associated with education and public service. His father, Harish Chandra Hota, is a retired Assistant Block Education Officer, while his mother, Anupama Nanda, is a school teacher. Their guidance and encouragement have played an important role in his journey.
Faculty members, officers and students of CUJ congratulated Hota and wished him continued success. His achievement, the university said, demonstrates that students can attain national and international recognition while pursuing their academic goals through sustained effort and determination.
