DRISTI volunteers organised “Ehsas — Connecting Hearts, Celebrating Lives” at Guru Nanak Home for Handicapped Children on Bariatu Road, bringing an afternoon of creativity, laughter and meaningful interaction for the children.
The initiative was guided by DRISTI Co-Founder Shubhanshu Shekhar Shukla and led by Chapter Lead Piyush Srivastava. It focused on promoting inclusion, participation and joyful engagement with the children under DRISTI’s DISHA and DAKSHA initiatives.
The programme began with a warm welcome and introduction, followed by several interactive activities, including colouring, card making, a balloon-passing game and Tambola. A special creativity session saw the children contribute their handprints to a collective DRISTI poster, symbolising unity, participation and togetherness.
The celebrations concluded with music and dance, followed by the distribution of chocolates and pencils among the children.
Volunteers, including Tanu, Kali, Yashika, Pummy, Swadha, Mohit, Shivendu and Ashika, along with several others, coordinated the activities and encouraged enthusiastic participation.
The organisers said the programme reflected DRISTI’s commitment to creating inclusive spaces and meaningful connections. The laughter, smiles and interactions during the event highlighted the importance of empathy and human connection, while demonstrating how simple acts of kindness can create lasting memories and moments of happiness.
