Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Meena on Wednesday directed agencies and banks to expedite Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects in Lohardaga, with priority to drinking water, healthcare, education, agriculture and rural development.
Chairing a CSR review meeting at the Collectorate auditorium, Meena reviewed the progress of projects and instructed agencies to complete pending works within stipulated timelines. He said no CSR project should be undertaken without approval from the district-level CSR committee and stressed that CSR funds must address local needs and benefit the maximum number of people.
Hindalco Industries was directed to provide piped drinking water to households left uncovered under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Peshrar and Kisko. The company was also asked to expedite construction of a hospital at Kujra, complete a vermicompost unit and ensure trained teachers and repairs in identified schools. Repairs of Anganwadi centres were also ordered to be accelerated.
Bank of India was asked to arrange a 30 KVA generator for Bhandara CHC, while SBI was directed to provide a 45 KVA generator for Kuru CHC. Hindalco was asked to coordinate nutritional kits for TB patients and a BLS ambulance.
ICICI Bank was directed to initiate three-phase solar-backed cold storages at three locations, while JSLPS was asked to speed up rural livelihood infrastructure work.
Meena warned that delays in approved CSR projects would not be tolerated.
