Hopes for the long-awaited Dhalbhumgarh Airport project have received a fresh boost following the commencement of a Phase-3 survey at the proposed airport site. A joint team of officials from multiple departments conducted an extensive inspection of the airport premises on Wednesday, signaling significant progress towards the implementation of the project.
The survey was carried out jointly by officials from the Forest Department, the Defence Estates Office (Ranchi), and the Indian Air Force. During the exercise, representatives associated with the Ministry of Defence undertook a physical verification of the land and inspected the existing conditions on the ground.
Officials compared official records with the actual status of the site to assess the availability and condition of the land earmarked for the airport project.
According to available records, the Ministry of Defence has approximately 413 acres of land registered under the Dhalbhumgarh Airport premises. During the inspection, officials focused on land demarcation and physical verification to ensure that official records accurately reflect the present ground reality.
While officials refrained from disclosing the specific objective behind the survey, they indicated that detailed information would be made public only after the completion of the verification process.
The latest survey has sparked renewed optimism among residents and stakeholders in the region. The development comes after the Central Government granted approval for the Dhalbhumgarh airstrip, leading many to believe that the airport project is now moving towards a more advanced stage.
The presence of both central and state-level officials at the site has further strengthened expectations that the project could soon witness accelerated progress.
As part of the survey, officials also examined whether any encroachments, unauthorized structures, or temporary occupations existed on the Ministry of Defence land. The team reviewed the current security arrangements at the site and explored measures to further strengthen protection of the land in the future.
Officials believe that once the survey findings are compiled and submitted to the concerned departments, the groundwork for the next phase of the Dhalbhumgarh Airport project could move forward more rapidly. The survey is being viewed as a crucial step in resolving land-related issues and facilitating future infrastructure development linked to the proposed airport.
The renewed activity at the site has generated fresh expectations that the long-pending Dhalbhumgarh Airport project may finally be moving closer to reality.
