Mahuadnr police in Latehar district very recently held an outreach at Orsa Patt close to Chhatisgarh border. Orsa Patt is the last far end of Jharkhand sharing a common passage with Chhatisgarh.
Here was the time in the nearby past when police used to do one thing in all hurry.
It was to get off the location at the most earliest. The scene has changed. People wait for the police and police don’t disappoint the public.
Previously police used to come to such far off end embarrassedly but now tents are first pitched and some decorations done announcing hours ahead of the arrival of the police, because of the ‘ease of living’ here said sources.
However a couple of days ago Mahuadnr police held an interfacing and interactive session with the public here at Orsa Patt.
SP Latehar Kumar Gaurav when approached for this far end police outreach said “Our police are embarking on distant outreach. We are going to remote and difficult areas.”
“It serves us many purposes. First is our area domination. Two our police taking note of the welfare of the common people urge them to fight against superstition, so called black magic, domestic violence, alcoholism etc.”
However at Orsa Patt police added one more thing to this outreach informed Gaurav. It was a ‘health desk’ steered by the community health officer (CHO) of the Ayushman Arogya Mandir Orsa Patt Sushila Nagesia.
More than 100 men, women and children reached the health desk and obtained medicines for their seasonal distress like fever, cold and cough, back and knee pain, loose motions etc.
Sushila Nagesia said “There were children who had severe issue of scabies or itching. It was because of their rolling in dirty waters in the rainy season. We gave them medicines. Their parents were too happy.”
