Latehar police have seized 6.59 grams of brown sugar and two pedlars remanded to judicial custody on Monday.
Giving this information SDPO Latehar Sandip Kumar Gupta said two pedlars identified as Avinav Ankur Savitamani, 21 and Shivam Kumar, 21, were bringing in brown sugar from Garhwa by a bus on Sunday August 9.
There was a tip off about this he said.
The tip off was that these two guys would be getting down from the bus at Mako More and walked down to town Latehar quite inconspicuously.
Under the directive of the SP Latehar Kumar Gaurav an interception was conducted at a road side hotel near the Mako More wherein the two got down from the bus only to be frisked by the police where the seizure of 6.59 grams of brown sugar was made.
Police have seized two silver foils, 1 cell phone and cash worth 1,860 rupees from the two.
Gupta said Avinav has already two criminal cases against him with the Latehar police station.
Police in Latehar district have been waging a war on narcotics be it poppy, cannabis or brown sugar asking youths to keep off the dangerous thing as it will destroy the present and future both reiterated Gupta.
Sources said the consignment comes from Garhwa and youths in Latehar district are pretty inclined to take to this crime without knowing the consequences of it.
