NDA celebrates Nathwani’s victory, calls it a mandate for development

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jharkhand celebrated the emphatic victory of NDA-backed independent candidate Parimal Nathwani in the Rajya Sabha election, describing the result as a triumph of unity, strong organisation, and development-oriented politics.

Soon after the results were declared, senior BJP leaders, including state president Aditya Sahu, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, and state organisation general secretary Karmveer Singh, congratulated Nathwani at the Jharkhand Assembly premises. He was also accorded a grand welcome at the BJP state headquarters in Ranchi, where he paid floral tributes to the statue of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee and addressed party workers.

Speaking on the occasion, Aditya Sahu said the victory reflected the NDA’s cohesion and commitment to public welfare. He termed the result an endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development and welfare-oriented policies. Sahu asserted that all NDA legislators voted in a united manner, rejecting speculation about divisions within the alliance. “This is only the beginning. The chain of victories will continue in Jharkhand in the future as well,” he said.

Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi said Nathwani’s victory was never in doubt after his candidature was announced. Highlighting Nathwani’s earlier tenure as a Rajya Sabha member from Jharkhand, Marandi said he had earned credibility and trust through his work over the years. He added that legislators had exercised their judgment keeping the state’s interests and development at the forefront.

Karmveer Singh described the outcome as a result of NDA’s organisational strength and collective effort. He expressed confidence that Nathwani would continue to work for the interests of Jharkhand and the nation.

Addressing supporters, Nathwani termed his election a “historic return” to Jharkhand, which he described as his “karmabhoomi” (land of work). Having previously represented the state in the Rajya Sabha between 2008 and 2020, he said he was grateful for another opportunity to serve its people.

Nathwani said his priorities would include skill development, revival of cottage industries, rural infrastructure, healthcare, and education. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP leaders, NDA allies, and legislators for their support in securing his victory.

Several senior political leaders from the NDA, including former chief ministers, Union ministers, legislators, and party office-bearers, also extended their congratulations to Nathwani on his return to the Upper House.
