During the ongoing Rajkiya Shravani Mela, a National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team carried out a swift and successful rescue operation on Tuesday, saving the life of a ‘Bol Bam’ devotee. The 28-year-old youth, who had fallen into a well near the Shivganga pond, was safely brought out by the NDRF team within just 10 minutes.
The incident occurred around 1:30 pm. Local residents saw a male devotee fall into a well located at Bhattar Dharamshala near the Shivganga pond and immediately informed the Mela Control Room. The Control Room alerted the NDRF team deployed at Shivganga pond at approximately 1:35 pm.
Led by Inspector Ashok Kumar, the NDRF team comprising one Sub-Officer and six personnel rushed to the spot and reached the site by 1:40 pm. Without any delay, the team launched the rescue operation. A brave rescuer descended into the deep well using a rope and carabiner, secured the victim, and with the help of ropes and other modern equipment, successfully pulled him out by 1:45 pm.
The rescued devotee has been identified as 28-year-old Yogendra Chaudhary (son of Vilas Chaudhary), a resident of Bodh Gaya in Gaya district of Bihar. The NDRF team provided him with primary medical aid (PHT) immediately after the rescue. His condition is currently stable. After initial treatment, he was handed over to Police OP No. 06, from where he was shifted to the medical camp for further treatment and care.
